Comoros Islands in March
Not the best time
March shows signs of improvement but still feels like the wet season's stubborn cousin. Independence Day celebrations add some cultural flavor to an otherwise soggy month.
Weather
March marks the tail end of the wet season with gradually decreasing rainfall but still plenty of humidity. Morning showers are common, followed by steamy afternoons. The ocean remains choppy from lingering storm systems.

All Months
The dry season from May to October delivers the best weather, with temperatures around 25°C (77°F) and minimal rainfall. This is peak season for hiking Karthala volcano – the trails are passable and the views aren't obscured by clouds. Flights and hotels cost about 20% more during these months.
July through September brings the best diving conditions, with calm seas and excellent visibility. But it's also when French tourists arrive for their summer holidays, so book accommodation early. The ylang-ylang flowers bloom during this period, filling the air with their intoxicating perfume.
Avoid January through March unless you enjoy tropical storms. The cyclone season brings heavy rains, rough seas, and occasional flight cancellations. Hotels often close for maintenance during February. But if you can handle the weather, you'll have the islands almost entirely to yourself, and prices drop by up to 40%.
