Évora in June
Great time to visit
June marks the beginning of proper summer with hot days but still manageable conditions. The long daylight hours mean you can explore early morning and late evening while avoiding the afternoon heat.
Weather
June brings the first taste of Alentejo summer heat with hot afternoons and warm evenings. Rain virtually disappears - you'll be lucky to see one rainy day all month. The dry heat feels more manageable than humid climates.

June Tips
- •Start sightseeing early - by noon the stone streets radiate serious heat
- •Siesta becomes essential - many shops close 1-4 PM anyway
- •Evening dining extends later as locals wait for temperatures to drop
All Months
April through June gives you perfect weather and wildflowers covering the plains. Temperatures sit in the comfortable 20s, and you can walk all day without melting. September and October work just as well, with harvest season adding energy to the countryside.
July and August turn Évora into an oven. Temperatures regularly hit 40°C, and those cobblestones become foot-burning surfaces by noon. If you must visit in summer, start early and take long afternoon breaks.
Winter brings rain and surprisingly cold nights, but also solitude. The Roman Temple looks dramatic under grey skies, and restaurant fireplaces actually get used. Just pack layers — Alentejo winters are drier than the coast but still chilly.
