Great time to visit
July is peak Algarve - blazing sun, packed beaches, and prices to match. It's undeniably beautiful, but you'll share it with half of Europe.
Weather
July brings peak summer heat with highs of 31°C and warm nights at 21°C. Rain is practically nonexistent - maybe half a day if you're unlucky. The sun blazes for 12+ hours daily, but coastal winds keep it from feeling oppressive.

All Months
April through October gives you the best weather, but each season has its personality. Late spring (April-May) brings wildflowers and comfortable temperatures around 22°C, perfect for walking the old town without sweating. Summer gets hot — July and August hit 30°C+ — but the beaches shine and everything stays open late. September and October offer the sweet spot: warm ocean, fewer crowds, and restaurant tables you can actually book. Winter isn't terrible if you're not beach-focused. January temperatures hover around 15°C, perfect for exploring Roman ruins and museums without the heat. But many beach restaurants close, and ferry schedules get reduced. The shoulder seasons (April-May, September-October) give you the best value on hotels, plus locals have more time to chat.
