Great time to visit
June offers perfect beach weather and lively festivals, but you'll pay for the privilege. The crowds arrive, but the atmosphere's infectious.

June kicks off summer proper with highs reaching 28°C and pleasant nights at 19°C. Rain virtually disappears - expect maybe 1 rainy day. The ocean finally becomes swimmable, and humidity stays manageable thanks to Atlantic breezes.

All Months
April through October gives you the best weather, but each season has its personality. Late spring (April-May) brings wildflowers and comfortable temperatures around 22°C, perfect for walking the old town without sweating. Summer gets hot — July and August hit 30°C+ — but the beaches shine and everything stays open late. September and October offer the sweet spot: warm ocean, fewer crowds, and restaurant tables you can actually book. Winter isn't terrible if you're not beach-focused. January temperatures hover around 15°C, perfect for exploring Roman ruins and museums without the heat. But many beach restaurants close, and ferry schedules get reduced. The shoulder seasons (April-May, September-October) give you the best value on hotels, plus locals have more time to chat.
