Flic en Flac in August
Great time to visit
August offers the year's best weather but at peak season prices and crowds. If money's no object and you've planned ahead, you'll have an incredible time.
Weather
August continues July's excellent conditions with bone-dry skies and comfortable temperatures. The trade winds are strongest now, making it perfect for wind sports but sometimes choppy for swimming.

- •Hotel availability is tightest this month
All Months
May through October gives you the best weather – dry, sunny, and those famous trade winds keep things comfortable even when temperatures hit 28°C. This is Mauritius' winter, but winter here means perfect beach weather everywhere else. July and August get busy with European visitors escaping their summer heat, so book accommodation early. The shoulder months of May and October offer the sweet spot – great weather, fewer crowds, and better hotel rates. Avoid January through March if possible. That's cyclone season, and even if no storms hit directly, you'll deal with humidity, rain, and rough seas that make swimming less pleasant. The water temperature stays around 24°C year-round, so it's always swimmable when conditions allow. December can work if you don't mind occasional afternoon showers and higher prices during the European holiday season.
