Foz do Iguaçu in February
Not the best time
Still peak season with Carnaval adding extra chaos to an already sweltering month. The falls are spectacular but fighting crowds in 90% humidity isn't everyone's idea of paradise.
Weather
February continues the summer assault with brutal heat and daily downpours that turn streets into temporary rivers. The humidity makes 30°C feel like 40°C, and the afternoon storms arrive with clockwork precision. At least the falls are thundering at maximum volume.

February Tips
- •Carnaval means everything gets more expensive and chaotic
- •Pack electrolyte supplements - you'll sweat buckets
- •Rain ponchos are useless here; embrace getting soaked
All Months
April through September brings the best weather - less humidity, fewer mosquitoes, and water levels that showcase the falls without overwhelming them. July and August see the biggest crowds and highest prices. Book accommodations three months ahead for these months. December through March is wet season. The falls rage at maximum power but expect daily downpours and oppressive heat. March and April offer the sweet spot: decent weather, manageable crowds, and water levels high enough for dramatic photos. Avoid Brazilian school holidays in July and December unless you enjoy queuing with thousands of excited teenagers. The falls flow year-round, but September through November provides the most comfortable temperatures for hiking the trails.
