Gulf Shores in July
Great time to visit
July is Gulf Shores at its most intense - blazing hot, packed with families, and expensive as hell. But if you can handle the crowds and heat, the beach life doesn't get more authentic than this.
Weather
July brings peak summer heat with highs in the low 90s and muggy nights around 75°F. Humidity makes it feel even hotter, and afternoon thunderstorms provide brief but intense relief. The Gulf stays warm enough for night swimming.

All Months
April through May offers the sweet spot — warm enough for swimming (water hits 70°F), smaller crowds, and reasonable hotel rates. Azaleas bloom throughout Gulf State Park, and you can actually find parking at popular beaches.
Summer brings peak crowds and peak prices. June through August sees water temperatures in the low 80s, but also wall-to-wall people and $300+ nightly condo rates. Book way ahead if you're coming during this window.
September and October deliver the best weather. Hurricane season keeps some visitors away, but most storms miss the area. Water stays warm through October, and you'll have beaches mostly to yourself.
Winter is mild but unpredictable. Some years you get 70-degree days in January. Others bring cold snaps that make beach time miserable. Most restaurants and attractions scale back hours.
