June Tips
- •Perfect time for hiking Ndere Island or Kit Mikayi
- •Pack warm clothes for surprisingly cool evenings
- •Book fishing trips - the calm lake conditions are ideal
All Months
June through September gives you the driest weather and clearest skies. The lake is calmer during these months, perfect for boat trips to Ndere Island. December through February works well too - less rain and comfortable temperatures around 25°C. March to May brings heavy rains that can flood streets and make getting around messy. October and November see shorter rains but still enough to disrupt plans. The fish are most abundant during dry seasons when the lake levels are stable. Local festivals happen year-round, but the Luo Festival in August showcases the best traditional music and dance.
