Great time to visit
September offers the best of both worlds - still warm enough for serious beach time but comfortable for active exploration. Crowds thin out but weather remains excellent.
Weather
September brings welcome relief as temperatures start dropping from August's peak. Still plenty warm for beach days, but inland exploration becomes comfortable again. Trade winds pick up slightly, and humidity begins its gradual descent.

All Months
March through May gives you perfect weather without European school holiday crowds. Temperatures hover around 22°C, the volcanic landscape turns green after winter rains, and hotel prices drop 30% from peak season. September through November works equally well – the ocean reaches its warmest at 24°C and you'll have beaches mostly to yourself. Avoid July and August when Spanish families arrive en masse and temperatures can hit 35°C. The volcanic rocks amplify heat, making hiking uncomfortable during midday. December through February brings cooler weather around 18°C, but also the strongest winds and occasional rain. Perfect for surfers at Famara Beach, less ideal for beach lounging. The island gets 300 days of sunshine annually, so rain rarely lasts more than a few hours. Trade winds blow year-round, keeping humidity low but making it feel cooler than the actual temperature.
