Good time to visit
December is tricky - the weather is pretty miserable, but holiday festivities and family visits drive up demand and prices. You'll get soaked, but the Christmas spirit is strong.
Weather
December maintains heavy rainfall with around 220mm and humidity levels near 85%. Storms are frequent though sometimes shorter than earlier wet season months. The heat combined with moisture creates uncomfortable conditions.

All Months
June through September gives you the dry season sweet spot. Temperatures hover around 26°C, humidity drops to almost bearable levels, and you can actually see wildlife in the national parks without getting drenched. This is when Akanda's elephants come closer to the coast and the beaches aren't constantly pounded by rain. October through May brings the wet season, which sounds dramatic but really just means afternoon thunderstorms and higher humidity. The upside? Everything turns impossibly green and hotel rates drop. December and January see some French expats returning for holidays, so book ahead if you're planning a Christmas visit.
