Libreville in March
Not the best time
This is objectively the worst month to visit Libreville. The rain is unforgiving and the humidity unbearable. Even locals avoid being outside when possible.
Weather
March marks the peak of the rainy season with relentless downpours and crushing humidity reaching 90%. Rainfall can exceed 300mm, and storms are intense and prolonged. The air feels like you're breathing through a wet towel.

March Tips
- •Seriously consider postponing your trip - this is brutal weather
- •If you must visit, book hotels in central Libreville to minimize travel
- •Bring multiple changes of clothes as nothing stays dry
All Months
June through September gives you the dry season sweet spot. Temperatures hover around 26°C, humidity drops to almost bearable levels, and you can actually see wildlife in the national parks without getting drenched. This is when Akanda's elephants come closer to the coast and the beaches aren't constantly pounded by rain. October through May brings the wet season, which sounds dramatic but really just means afternoon thunderstorms and higher humidity. The upside? Everything turns impossibly green and hotel rates drop. December and January see some French expats returning for holidays, so book ahead if you're planning a Christmas visit.
