Maafushi in June
Not the best time
Low season for good reason - frequent heavy rains and rough seas make outdoor activities challenging. But if you don't mind getting wet, the prices are at their lowest.
Weather
June brings the full southwest monsoon with frequent heavy rainfall and oppressive humidity reaching 90%. Temperatures hit 33°C but feel much hotter. Expect rain on about 15 days, often in the form of intense afternoon thunderstorms that can last hours.

- •Many water sports operators reduce schedules due to rough seas
All Months
November through April delivers the sweet spot – dry skies, calm seas, and perfect snorkeling visibility. December and January see the most crowds and highest prices, but the weather stays consistently excellent. February and March offer the best value with fewer tourists but still great conditions. The southwest monsoon from May to October brings rain and choppy waters, though you'll find rock-bottom accommodation prices. Here's what locals won't tell you – even rainy season has plenty of sunny periods, and the storms usually pass quickly. Just expect some snorkeling trips to get canceled. Water temperature stays around 28°C year-round, so you won't need a wetsuit. The best underwater visibility happens during the dry months when sediment settles.
