Malmö in April
Good time to visit
April marks real spring in Malmö with blooming parks and outdoor dining returning. The city shakes off winter gloom and locals emerge blinking into longer daylight hours.
Weather
April finally delivers on spring's promise with temperatures climbing into double digits. Rain becomes less frequent and more showery rather than the steady drizzle of winter months. Cherry blossoms bloom in Kungsparken, though cool evenings still require jackets.

All Months
May through September gives you the best of Malmö. May brings 15°C temperatures and the city shaking off winter hibernation. Outdoor cafes reopen, Ribersborg beach becomes swimmable (if you're brave), and daylight stretches until 9 PM.
July and August are peak season. Temperatures hit 22°C, everyone's in the parks, and accommodation prices spike 30%. Book ahead or you'll pay premium rates for mediocre hotels.
September might be the sweet spot. Weather stays mild around 18°C, summer crowds thin out, and restaurant terraces remain open. The light turns golden — perfect for those Instagram shots of Lilla Torg.
Winter (November-March) is brutal. Temperatures hover around freezing, daylight lasts maybe six hours, and the wind off the Öresund cuts through any jacket. But hotel rates drop by half, and you'll have museums to yourself.
Avoid late October and early November. All the downsides of winter without any Christmas charm.
