Malmö in October
Good time to visit
October is transition time as Malmö slides toward winter. Still pleasant enough for sightseeing, but you'll need to plan around increasingly frequent rainy days.
Weather
October shows autumn's true colors with temperatures dropping steadily through the month. Rain becomes more frequent and sustained, and the famous Nordic gloom begins its return. But sunny days still provide beautiful golden light perfect for photography.

All Months
May through September gives you the best of Malmö. May brings 15°C temperatures and the city shaking off winter hibernation. Outdoor cafes reopen, Ribersborg beach becomes swimmable (if you're brave), and daylight stretches until 9 PM.
July and August are peak season. Temperatures hit 22°C, everyone's in the parks, and accommodation prices spike 30%. Book ahead or you'll pay premium rates for mediocre hotels.
September might be the sweet spot. Weather stays mild around 18°C, summer crowds thin out, and restaurant terraces remain open. The light turns golden — perfect for those Instagram shots of Lilla Torg.
Winter (November-March) is brutal. Temperatures hover around freezing, daylight lasts maybe six hours, and the wind off the Öresund cuts through any jacket. But hotel rates drop by half, and you'll have museums to yourself.
Avoid late October and early November. All the downsides of winter without any Christmas charm.
