Manama in March

Not the best time

March brings the Bahrain Grand Prix and peak tourist madness. Great weather gets overshadowed by astronomical prices and impossible crowds during race weekend.

Weather

March marks the beginning of Bahrain's transition to summer heat. Temperatures climb steadily through the month, with humidity staying manageable. Rain becomes increasingly rare as the dry season takes hold.

March Tips

  • Book everything months in advance for Grand Prix weekend - prices triple
  • Start planning indoor activities for later in your trip as heat builds
  • This is your last chance for comfortable beach weather

All Months

June through November offers the best balance of weather and wildlife viewing. The dry season means lower river levels, exposing beaches and making it easier to spot caimans and birds. Temperatures hover around 30°C (86°F) with less humidity than the wet months. September and October are prime time. River levels drop to their lowest, creating temporary islands perfect for camping. Pink dolphins gather in larger groups as fish concentrate in smaller pools. The weather is hot but not oppressive. Avoid December through April unless you love rain and mosquitoes. The wet season brings daily downpours and flooding that can cut off access to some areas. But if you don't mind the conditions, you'll have the place almost entirely to yourself. July sees a slight uptick in Brazilian domestic tourists, but Manama never feels crowded. Book accommodation a few days ahead during peak months, otherwise you can usually find a room by just showing up.
