Manama in May
Not the best time
May is when Bahrain gets seriously hot and most tourists flee. Rock-bottom prices are the only upside to what feels like living in an oven.
Weather
May cranks up the heat another notch with sweltering days and warm nights. Humidity hovers around 60-70%, making the already high temperatures feel even worse. Rain is virtually non-existent.

May Tips
- •Embrace the mall culture - Bahrain City Centre becomes your best friend
- •Book treatments at hotel spas to escape the heat
- •Consider this month only if you're getting serious hotel deals
All Months
June through November offers the best balance of weather and wildlife viewing. The dry season means lower river levels, exposing beaches and making it easier to spot caimans and birds. Temperatures hover around 30°C (86°F) with less humidity than the wet months.
September and October are prime time. River levels drop to their lowest, creating temporary islands perfect for camping. Pink dolphins gather in larger groups as fish concentrate in smaller pools. The weather is hot but not oppressive.
Avoid December through April unless you love rain and mosquitoes. The wet season brings daily downpours and flooding that can cut off access to some areas. But if you don't mind the conditions, you'll have the place almost entirely to yourself.
July sees a slight uptick in Brazilian domestic tourists, but Manama never feels crowded. Book accommodation a few days ahead during peak months, otherwise you can usually find a room by just showing up.
