Not the best time
Peak wet season makes this a challenging time for most visitors. Rock-bottom prices reflect the difficult conditions - only for travelers who don't mind daily soakings.
Weather
June brings peak wet season conditions with temperatures around 33°C but crushing humidity. Heavy rains fall almost daily, often in dramatic afternoon thunderstorms. The air feels thick and oppressive.

All Months
Carnival season (January through March) is when Port of Spain becomes the center of the Caribbean universe. But here's the thing — hotel prices triple and the city goes completely mad. If you want the full cultural experience, come for Carnival. If you want to actually see the city without fighting crowds, avoid February entirely. The dry season from December through May offers the best weather — less humidity, minimal rain, and trade winds that actually provide relief. June through November brings the rainy season, but afternoon showers often clear quickly and everything stays green. Hurricane season technically runs June to November, but Trinidad sits south of the main hurricane belt. The wettest months are June and July, when flooding can shut down parts of the city. December through April also brings cooler evenings perfect for outdoor dining and street festivals. Just remember — this is the tropics, so 'cool' means 75°F instead of 85°F.
