April and October sit in the sweet spot—decent weather, manageable crowds. Avoid major Bolivian holidays when everything shuts down. The Tinku festival in early May brings traditional fighting dances but also packed accommodations. Book ahead during dry season. Most travelers underestimate how cold it gets after sunset, even in summer.
