- •Long daylight hours perfect for evening rampart walks
All Months
May through September gives you the best weather, but each month feels different. May and June are perfect - mild temperatures around 18°C, fewer crowds, and everything's open. The rampart walks are gorgeous when spring flowers bloom in the parks below.
July and August bring warm weather (22°C average) but also peak crowds and prices. The old town gets packed by midday. If you're coming in summer, stay late into evening when day-trippers leave and locals reclaim their city.
September is ideal if you can swing it. Weather stays warm enough for beach walks, crowds thin out, and restaurants offer better service. The light in September makes those granite walls glow golden at sunset.
Winter has its own charm but half the restaurants close and weather gets rough. January storms are dramatic to watch from the ramparts, but bring serious rain gear.
