Saint-Tropez in August
Great time to visit
August is Saint-Tropez at its most extreme - the ultimate playground for the wealthy and beautiful, but also the most expensive and crowded month. Come prepared to spend serious money or just people-watch from café terraces.
Weather
August continues July's heat but with slightly more humidity as Mediterranean temperatures peak. Days stay cloudless and scorching, making air-conditioned shops and shaded terraces precious refuges. Evening temperatures barely drop below comfortable.

August Tips
- •Avoid driving anywhere between 10 AM and 6 PM - traffic reaches gridlock levels
- •Many locals actually leave town this month, so some authentic restaurants close
- •Book spa treatments early morning or late evening to escape the heat
All Months
May through September is Saint-Tropez season, but each month has its own personality. May is lovely — warm enough for the beach but without the crowds. The town feels almost normal. June brings the film festivals and yacht shows. July and August are peak madness. Expect crowds, traffic, and prices that'll make your eyes water. But the energy is infectious and this is when Saint-Tropez truly comes alive. September is the sweet spot — still warm, fewer crowds, and locals start to emerge from hiding. The sea is at its warmest too. October can be beautiful but many restaurants and clubs close after the first week. Winter is dead quiet — most places shut down completely. If you're coming in peak season, book everything in advance. And I mean everything — restaurant reservations, beach club spots, even taxi transfers.
