San José del Cabo in August
Not the best time
Peak summer misery with oppressive heat and increasing rain. The lowest prices of the year can't compensate for genuinely uncomfortable conditions for most people.
Weather
August maintains the brutal heat while adding humidity that makes everything feel sticky. Thunderstorms become more regular, often rolling in during late afternoon. The air feels heavy and oppressive even in shaded areas.

August Tips
- •Hurricane season is active - monitor weather forecasts closely
- •Indoor activities become essential during peak heat hours
- •Many local restaurants reduce hours or close temporarily
All Months
November through April delivers perfect weather – highs in the low 80s, minimal rain, and gentle breezes off the water. This is peak season, so expect crowds and higher prices, especially around holidays.
December and January see the biggest crowds and highest prices. Christmas week is particularly insane – book months ahead or pay premium rates for whatever's left.
March and April offer a sweet spot: great weather, fewer crowds than winter months, and slightly better deals. Spring break brings college crowds to nearby Cabo San Lucas, but San José stays relatively calm.
May through October brings heat and humidity that can be brutal. Temperatures hit the 90s regularly, and hurricane season (June-November) brings storm risks. But hotel rates drop significantly, and you'll have beaches mostly to yourself.
August and September are the worst for weather – hot, humid, and peak hurricane risk. Skip these months unless you're chasing serious deals and don't mind sweating through every activity.
