Seoul in March

Great time to visit

Seoul shakes off winter's grip but stays unpredictable. The weather swings wildly, but you'll catch the first hints of the beauty that's coming in April.

Weather

March brings the first real warmth to Seoul, though mornings and evenings stay chilly. Yellow dust storms from China can create hazy days with poor air quality. Rain becomes more frequent as winter loosens its grip.

  • Early cherry blossoms start appearing in warmer southern districts

All Months

Spring (March-May) is Seoul at its most beautiful. Cherry blossoms bloom along the Han River in early April, and temperatures hover around 15-20°C (59-68°F). Book hotels early – this is peak season and prices reflect it. Fall (September-November) rivals spring for perfect weather. October temperatures around 18°C (64°F) make walking comfortable, and autumn leaves turn Namsan Park into a postcard. Plus, it's persimmon season – street vendors sell them everywhere. Summer (June-August) brings humidity that feels like breathing through a wet towel. Temperatures hit 30°C (86°F) with 80% humidity. But Seoul adapts – underground shopping centers become refuges, and cold noodle dishes like naengmyeon appear on every menu. Winter (December-February) is brutal but beautiful. Temperatures drop to -10°C (14°F), but Christmas markets pop up in Myeongdong and ice skating rinks open along the Han River. Hotel prices drop significantly.
