Siwa Oasis in July
Not the best time
July is Siwa's attempt to recreate the surface of Venus. Even seasoned desert travelers struggle here. The few tourists who come are usually researchers or people with no choice in timing.
Weather
July hits peak inferno mode with temperatures soaring to 44°C. Nights barely cool to 28°C, offering no real relief. The heat radiates from every surface and even early morning feels oppressive.

July Tips
- •Seriously consider avoiding this month entirely
- •If you must come, stay indoors 10am-6pm
- •Some hotels close completely
All Months
October through March offers perfect weather - warm days around 25°C and cool nights that actually require a jacket. December and January see the most visitors, but Siwa never feels crowded.
Avoid summer completely. July temperatures hit 45°C, and the desert becomes genuinely dangerous during midday. Even locals stay indoors from noon to 4 PM.
Ramadan brings a special atmosphere as the entire oasis observes the fast together. But restaurant hours get unpredictable, and some attractions close early. Spring brings wildflowers to the desert after rare rains - a magical sight if you're lucky.
