Tequila in December
Great time to visit
December combines perfect weather with festive holiday celebrations but also brings peak crowds and prices. The cold nights require warm clothes but days are ideal for distillery tours and agave field visits.
Weather
December continues the excellent dry season with highs around 23°C and cold nights dipping to 7°C. Rain is virtually nonexistent with maybe one day all month. Clear, dry air makes the high altitude sun feel intense despite cooler temperatures.

All Months
October through April offers the best weather - days hit 75°F and nights cool to 55°F. December and January bring the harvest season when jimadores work the fields at dawn and distilleries run at full capacity. The smell of cooking agave fills the air, and you can watch the entire process from plant to bottle. Avoid July and August when afternoon thunderstorms turn dirt roads to mud. But here's the thing about shoulder season - May and September offer empty distilleries and lower hotel rates. Sure, it's warmer, but morning tours beat the heat, and you'll have places like Casa Herradura practically to yourself. The rainy season from June to September turns the landscape emerald green, though outdoor agave tours get cancelled frequently.
