Great time to visit

September offers the best of both worlds - still fantastic weather from dry season but crowds starting to thin out. A smart choice for those wanting great conditions without peak season chaos.

Weather

September brings the tail end of dry season with still-excellent conditions but slightly increasing humidity. Rain remains minimal, trade winds continue, and temperatures start their gradual climb back up. Ocean conditions remain ideal for all water activities.

September Tips

  • Sweet spot for crowds - still busy but more manageable than peak summer
  • Hotel rates start dropping slightly from peak season highs
  • Excellent month for honeymoons with great weather and romantic sunsets

All Months

April through October gives you the best weather, but here's what the brochures won't tell you: even the 'dry' season gets 10 inches of rain monthly. November through March brings cyclone season and humidity that makes you question life choices. But those months also bring 30% lower hotel rates and fewer crowds. The sweet spot? May and September. You get warm lagoon temperatures, minimal rain, and trade winds that keep the bugs away. Avoid July and August unless you enjoy sharing paradise with every honeymooner in the Northern Hemisphere. Water temperature stays around 80°F year-round, so that's never a concern. Just know that 'partly cloudy' in Bora Bora means dramatic cloud formations that actually make the photos better.
