All Months
May through September works, but each month feels different. May is perfect if you hate crowds — warm enough for the beach (water's still chilly though), restaurants open, and you'll have the promenade mostly to yourself. June and September hit the sweet spot: warm water, fewer families, and everything's open without the August insanity. July and August are peak season for good reason — water's warmest, beach clubs buzz with energy, and the nightlife actually exists. But expect crowds, higher prices, and zero chance of spontaneous dinner reservations. Here's the thing about winter: most beach clubs close, half the restaurants shut down, and it rains. A lot. The famous Carnival happens in February and March, which sounds romantic until you're standing in the rain watching papier-mâché floats. Go in shoulder season if you can swing it.
