Yangon in July
Not the best time
July represents monsoon season at its most intense with daily deluges that can strand you indoors. Tourist infrastructure operates at minimum capacity during this challenging month.
Weather
July delivers peak monsoon conditions with frequent heavy downpours and near-constant humidity. Temperatures hover around 29°C, but the oppressive moisture makes it feel much hotter.

All Months
November through March delivers Yangon at its most bearable. Temperatures hover around 75-85°F and rain is rare. December and January are peak season — book accommodations early. The cool season means you can actually walk around Shwedagon Pagoda without melting. April kicks off the hot season and it's brutal — temperatures hit 100°F+ and the humidity is crushing. May brings the monsoon, which continues through October. But here's the upside of rainy season: fewer tourists, lower prices, and the city looks incredibly green. Just pack an umbrella and waterproof shoes. The rains usually come in afternoon downpours, not all-day drizzle. Local festivals like Thingyan (April) are worth experiencing despite the heat.
