All Months
November through March delivers Yangon at its most bearable. Temperatures hover around 75-85°F and rain is rare. December and January are peak season — book accommodations early. The cool season means you can actually walk around Shwedagon Pagoda without melting. April kicks off the hot season and it's brutal — temperatures hit 100°F+ and the humidity is crushing. May brings the monsoon, which continues through October. But here's the upside of rainy season: fewer tourists, lower prices, and the city looks incredibly green. Just pack an umbrella and waterproof shoes. The rains usually come in afternoon downpours, not all-day drizzle. Local festivals like Thingyan (April) are worth experiencing despite the heat.
