Milan in September
Great time to visit
September marks Milan's second golden season - comfortable temperatures, the city back in full swing, and that perfect light photographers love. Fashion Week adds excitement but also crowds and costs.
Weather
September brings blessed relief with temperatures settling back to a comfortable 24°C, while nights cool to 14°C. Rain returns with about 7 days of showers, but the crushing humidity finally breaks. Crisp mornings hint at autumn ahead.

All Months
April through June is Milan at its best. Temperatures hit 20-25°C, outdoor seating opens up, and the city shakes off winter's gray mood. Fashion Week in April brings energy (and crowds).
September and October offer perfect weather without summer's humidity. This is when locals return from vacation and the city buzzes with new energy. Fashion Week strikes again in September.
Summer gets sticky. July and August see temperatures around 30°C with humidity that makes walking uncomfortable. Many restaurants close for vacation in August. But hotel prices drop significantly.
Winter is gray and damp, but La Scala season runs October through March. If opera matters more than sunshine, this is your time. Christmas markets around Duomo add some charm to the dreariness.
Avoid Fashion Week unless you're in the industry. Hotel prices triple, restaurants fill up, and the city becomes a circus of influencers and industry types.
