Phi Phi Islands in February

Great time to visit

The best weather of the year meets the worst crowds and highest prices. If you can handle the chaos and expense, the conditions are absolutely perfect for every activity.

Weather

February continues the dry season magic with virtually zero rainfall and comfortable temperatures. Morning mist sometimes rolls over the limestone cliffs, creating dramatic photo ops. Sea conditions remain excellent for island hopping.

February Tips

  • This is the absolute busiest month - book everything months in advance
  • Consider staying on nearby Koh Lanta for cheaper accommodation and day trips to Phi Phi
  • Sunset viewpoint gets packed by 5pm, go at 4pm instead

All Months

November through April is prime time — dry skies, calm seas, and perfect diving conditions. December and January are peak season, so book accommodation early and expect higher prices. March and April get hot but still manageable, plus you'll have fewer crowds. May through October brings monsoon rains and rough seas. Many dive shops close, ferries get cancelled, and some resorts shut down completely. But here's a secret — late October can be incredible if you get lucky with weather. Prices drop by 40% and you'll have beaches almost to yourself. Just have backup plans for rainy days. The shoulder months of November and April offer the best balance of good weather and reasonable crowds.
