January Tips

  • Book accommodation at least 4 months ahead - prices triple during peak season
  • Arrive at Maya Bay early (7am) to beat the day-trip crowds
  • Ferry tickets sell out fast, book return trips when you arrive

All Months

November through April is prime time — dry skies, calm seas, and perfect diving conditions. December and January are peak season, so book accommodation early and expect higher prices. March and April get hot but still manageable, plus you'll have fewer crowds. May through October brings monsoon rains and rough seas. Many dive shops close, ferries get cancelled, and some resorts shut down completely. But here's a secret — late October can be incredible if you get lucky with weather. Prices drop by 40% and you'll have beaches almost to yourself. Just have backup plans for rainy days. The shoulder months of November and April offer the best balance of good weather and reasonable crowds.
