Phi Phi Islands in March

Great time to visit

Still excellent weather but getting noticeably hotter and more humid. Crowds remain heavy but you might find slightly better deals toward the end of the month.

Weather

March starts hot and stays that way, with temperatures climbing and humidity increasing slightly. Still in the dry season, so rain remains minimal. The heat can feel intense by afternoon, especially inland from the beaches.

March Tips

  • Crowds start thinning slightly but accommodation prices stay high until month-end
  • Schedule activities for early morning or late afternoon to avoid peak heat
  • Stock up on high-SPF sunscreen - the tropical sun is brutal

All Months

November through April is prime time — dry skies, calm seas, and perfect diving conditions. December and January are peak season, so book accommodation early and expect higher prices. March and April get hot but still manageable, plus you'll have fewer crowds. May through October brings monsoon rains and rough seas. Many dive shops close, ferries get cancelled, and some resorts shut down completely. But here's a secret — late October can be incredible if you get lucky with weather. Prices drop by 40% and you'll have beaches almost to yourself. Just have backup plans for rainy days. The shoulder months of November and April offer the best balance of good weather and reasonable crowds.
