March Tips
- •Pack both winter and spring clothes - temperatures swing wildly between morning and afternoon
- •March is perfect for exploring the old Turkish quarter without summer crowds
- •Restaurant terraces start reopening mid-month - ask about outdoor seating
All Months
April through June gives you the best weather without the coastal crowds. Temperatures hit 22°C, perfect for walking and day trips. The Skadar Lake water lilies bloom in May.
September and October work beautifully. The heat breaks, but you can still swim at Skadar Lake. October brings wine harvest season – some of the region's best festivals happen then.
Summer gets hot. July and August regularly hit 35°C, and the city empties as locals head to the coast. But air conditioning is standard in hotels, and evening temperatures drop to comfortable levels.
Winter is mild but wet. December through February sees frequent rain, though snow is rare. Many restaurants reduce their hours.
