Banda Islands in March
Good time to visit
March is when Banda starts waking up from monsoon season. The weather improves week by week, making late March a decent time for budget travelers who don't mind some rain.
Weather
March marks the transition out of monsoon season. Rain becomes more predictable - usually afternoon showers rather than all-day downpours. Humidity drops to around 75% and seas start to calm down.

- •Some guesthouses start reopening mid-month
- •Still pack rain gear but you'll use it less
All Months
April through October brings the driest weather and calmest seas. May and June offer the best conditions — minimal rain, light winds, and excellent underwater visibility. July and August see more visitors, though 'crowded' here means maybe 50 tourists total. September and October can be perfect, with warm water and clear skies. But weather patterns have become less predictable in recent years. November through March brings monsoon rains and rough seas. Ferry services get canceled regularly, and diving conditions deteriorate. Many guesthouses close during this period. If you're stuck due to weather, embrace it — there are worse places to be stranded than a tropical island with 400-year-old nutmeg trees.
