Kasane in February
Not the best time
February tests your patience with continued heat and mud, but lodge rates hit rock bottom. Wildlife disperses across flooded areas, making game viewing hit-or-miss at best.
Weather
February continues the hot, wet pattern with temperatures that make you question your life choices by noon. Rain falls almost every other day, turning dirt roads into slip-and-slide tracks. The air stays thick with humidity that never really breaks.

February Tips
- •Rent a 4WD vehicle - regular cars get stuck regularly on muddy park roads
- •Stay near Kasane town center where roads are better maintained during rains
- •Bring antifungal powder and extra socks - everything stays damp
All Months
May through October is prime time. The dry season means animals concentrate around the Chobe River, creating incredible viewing opportunities. July and August see massive elephant herds - we're talking 500+ animals at a time coming down to drink. But it's also peak season, so expect higher prices and more tourists. September and October get seriously hot - 40°C days aren't uncommon - but the wildlife viewing is phenomenal. November through April is wet season. The landscape turns green and beautiful, but animals disperse inland where there's water everywhere. Many camps close, and those that stay open offer big discounts. If you can handle some rain and fewer animals, it's actually quite lovely. Just know that some roads become impassable.
