Kasane in November
Good time to visit
November tests your heat tolerance as summer arrives with a vengeance. Wildlife viewing starts declining as animals disperse, but at least lodge prices begin dropping.
Weather
November delivers oppressive heat that makes you sprint between air-conditioned spaces. The first real rains arrive sporadically, creating steam-bath humidity conditions. When storms hit, they're dramatic but brief, cooling things down for maybe an hour.

November Tips
- •Plan indoor activities during midday hours - the heat becomes dangerous
- •Pack quick-dry clothing and rain gear - you'll need both within hours
- •Book accommodations with good AC - this isn't the time to rough it
All Months
May through October is prime time. The dry season means animals concentrate around the Chobe River, creating incredible viewing opportunities. July and August see massive elephant herds - we're talking 500+ animals at a time coming down to drink. But it's also peak season, so expect higher prices and more tourists. September and October get seriously hot - 40°C days aren't uncommon - but the wildlife viewing is phenomenal. November through April is wet season. The landscape turns green and beautiful, but animals disperse inland where there's water everywhere. Many camps close, and those that stay open offer big discounts. If you can handle some rain and fewer animals, it's actually quite lovely. Just know that some roads become impassable.
