Manali in August
Not the best time
August represents monsoon season at its most challenging with the heaviest rainfall. The mountains hide behind clouds and most outdoor adventures become impossible or dangerous.
Weather
August continues monsoon intensity with persistent rainfall and overcast skies. Humidity peaks and mountain views disappear behind thick clouds most days. The landscape turns lush green but accessibility suffers significantly.

All Months
November through April is peak season for good reason. Temperatures hover around 25°C and humidity drops to bearable levels. You can actually walk around during the day without melting. Hotel prices jump during this period, especially around Formula 1 in March.
December and January offer the best weather but expect crowds. The Manali shopping festival runs through January, bringing deals but also packed malls and restaurants. Book accommodations early if you're visiting during these months.
May through October is brutal. We're talking 40°C+ with humidity that makes breathing feel like work. But here's the thing - hotel rates drop by 40-50% and you'll have attractions mostly to yourself. The malls become your refuge, and evening activities start after 8 PM when the sun finally shows mercy.
