Manaus in April
Good time to visit
April offers the first glimpse of relief from wet season misery. Rain becomes more predictable and humidity slightly more bearable, but you're still dealing with soggy conditions daily.
Weather
April begins the transition out of wet season hell. Rain starts tapering off to every other day instead of daily deluges. Humidity drops slightly but still feels like breathing soup. Rivers remain high, which keeps many jungle areas accessible by boat.

April Tips
- •Book jungle lodges now - they start reopening after wet season maintenance
- •Rivers are still high enough for boat access to remote areas before they become inaccessible
- •Afternoon thunderstorms still hit hard - plan indoor activities from 2-6pm
All Months
Dry season runs June through October, and it's when most people visit. Water levels drop, beaches appear along the Rio Negro, and jungle hikes are actually possible without drowning in mud. Temperatures hover around 32°C (90°F) with lower humidity.
But here's the thing — dry season means crowds and higher prices. Hotel rates can double during peak months (July-September).
Wet season (November through May) is intense. We're talking 250+ rainy days per year. But the forest comes alive, waterfalls are at full power, and you'll have many places to yourself. Plus, high water levels mean you can canoe deep into the forest.
The shoulder months — June and October — offer the best of both worlds. Some rain, but not constant. Reasonable prices. And you can still do most activities.
Avoid March and April unless you love rain. The city can flood, and many jungle tours shut down completely.
