Manaus in September
Great time to visit
September extends the dry season magic with perfect weather and diverse jungle access. River beaches hit their peak, but some areas become unreachable as water levels drop.
Weather
September maintains the dry season's gifts with virtually no rain and humidity staying low. Temperatures remain high but without the moisture, it feels manageable. River levels continue dropping, creating more beaches but limiting access to some jungle areas.

- •Focus on low-water jungle experiences - walking trails become accessible
- •River dolphins are easier to spot as they concentrate in remaining deeper waters
- •Stock up on water - dehydration hits faster in this dry heat
All Months
Dry season runs June through October, and it's when most people visit. Water levels drop, beaches appear along the Rio Negro, and jungle hikes are actually possible without drowning in mud. Temperatures hover around 32°C (90°F) with lower humidity.
But here's the thing — dry season means crowds and higher prices. Hotel rates can double during peak months (July-September).
Wet season (November through May) is intense. We're talking 250+ rainy days per year. But the forest comes alive, waterfalls are at full power, and you'll have many places to yourself. Plus, high water levels mean you can canoe deep into the forest.
The shoulder months — June and October — offer the best of both worlds. Some rain, but not constant. Reasonable prices. And you can still do most activities.
Avoid March and April unless you love rain. The city can flood, and many jungle tours shut down completely.
