Munnar in January
Great time to visit
Peak tourist season for good reason. The weather is absolutely perfect, but expect crowds at every viewpoint and higher prices across the board.
Weather
January brings Munnar's coolest and driest weather, with crisp mornings that often dip below 10°C. The air is crystal clear with minimal humidity, perfect for those endless tea plantation walks. Practically zero rainfall means blue skies dominate.

- •Tea plantation tours fill up fast, so reserve spots in advance
All Months
October through May gives you the best weather – clear skies, comfortable temperatures, and minimal rain. December and January can actually get cold enough for sweaters, with temperatures dropping to 5°C at night. This is peak season though, so expect crowds and inflated prices. The monsoons from June to September transform the landscape into something otherworldly – everything turns impossibly green and waterfalls appear overnight. But heavy rains make some roads impassable and outdoor activities risky. Here's the sweet spot: visit in October or April for good weather without the December-January crowds. The tea plants look their greenest just after monsoon season ends.
