Nice in October

Great time to visit

October offers Nice's most civilized experience - comfortable weather, reasonable prices, and locals who actually seem happy to see tourists again. The golden light doesn't hurt either.

Weather

October serves up warm, golden days with crisp mornings and occasional rain showers. The light takes on that magical autumn quality photographers love. Evenings get chilly enough for light jackets.

October Tips

  • Pack layers - morning walks need jackets, afternoon terraces don't
  • Perfect weather for exploring the Corniche roads by car or bike
  • Many beach clubs close, but public beaches stay pleasant

All Months

May through June gives you warm weather without the crowds. September and October are golden—still swimmable but less chaotic. April can be lovely but unpredictable. July and August mean peak prices, packed beaches, and 30°C+ heat. Winter surprises people with its mildness—December averages 13°C and you'll find deals on hotels. But some restaurants close, and that famous light isn't quite the same. The Carnival in February brings energy but also crowds. Spring brings the film festival crowd to nearby Cannes, which affects Nice too.
