Stockton in July
Not the best time
July's blazing hot and crowded. Great if you love summer heat and water activities, but brutal if you don't handle high temperatures well.
Weather
July brings serious Central Valley heat. Temperatures soar above 35°C regularly, with bone-dry conditions and intense sun. The saving grace? Low humidity keeps it from feeling tropical, and evenings cool down nicely.

All Months
March through May is perfect — temps in the 70s, wildflowers blooming in the delta, and you can actually enjoy being outside. Fall works too, September through November, when the agricultural smells die down and the air clears up.
Summer is rough. We're talking 100-degree days regularly, and the Central Valley heat hits different than coastal California. The delta provides some relief if you're on the water, but walking around downtown in July feels like punishment.
Winter brings tule fog that can last for days. Visibility drops to maybe 50 feet, flights get cancelled, and the whole place feels post-apocalyptic. Romantic if you're into that vibe, but not practical for sightseeing.
