Stockton in September
Great time to visit
September's a local favorite - still warm enough for summer activities but without the punishing heat. Crowds thin out after Labor Day too.
Weather
September offers sweet relief from summer's peak heat. Temperatures drop to more comfortable levels while maintaining sunny skies and dry conditions. It's like May in reverse - warm days, cooler evenings, minimal rainfall.

All Months
March through May is perfect — temps in the 70s, wildflowers blooming in the delta, and you can actually enjoy being outside. Fall works too, September through November, when the agricultural smells die down and the air clears up.
Summer is rough. We're talking 100-degree days regularly, and the Central Valley heat hits different than coastal California. The delta provides some relief if you're on the water, but walking around downtown in July feels like punishment.
Winter brings tule fog that can last for days. Visibility drops to maybe 50 feet, flights get cancelled, and the whole place feels post-apocalyptic. Romantic if you're into that vibe, but not practical for sightseeing.
