Tegucigalpa in February

Great time to visit

Another stellar month that rivals January for perfect conditions. The only downside is competing with other travelers who know what's up.

Weather

February continues the dry season magic with brilliant sunshine and comfortable temperatures. Humidity stays low, making even the warmest afternoons pleasant. Rain is practically nonexistent - you might see one or two brief showers all month.

February Tips

  • Still need to book ahead - demand remains high
  • Perfect weather for exploring Parque La Leona
  • Bring sunscreen - the mountain altitude makes UV stronger

All Months

December through April gives you the dry season — clear mountain views and temperatures in the comfortable 70s-80s F. January and February are perfect, with cool mornings that warm up nicely by afternoon. But here's what the guidebooks don't tell you: the rainy season from May through November isn't actually that bad. Sure, it rains most afternoons, but mornings are often clear and the mountains look incredible wrapped in clouds. Plus, hotel prices drop 30-40%. Just pack an umbrella and embrace the drama. Avoid September and October when the rains get serious and some mountain roads become sketchy. Holy Week in March or April brings crowds and higher prices, but also the best street food and cultural events.
