Vientiane in June
Not the best time
Monsoon season hits hard with daily downpours and flooding streets. Tourist numbers drop to rock bottom, bringing great prices but challenging weather. Only visit if you don't mind getting soaked regularly.
Weather
Monsoon season arrives with a vengeance. Heavy downpours can flood streets within hours, though they usually don't last all day. High humidity makes it feel hotter than it actually is.

All Months
November through March gives you the best weather. Days hit 25-30°C, nights cool down to 15-20°C, and rain stays away. December and January are perfect — clear skies, comfortable temperatures, and the Mekong runs low enough to reveal sandy beaches.
April and May bring serious heat. Temperatures push past 35°C, and the air gets heavy before the rains start. But crowds disappear and prices drop. If you can handle the heat, you'll have temples mostly to yourself.
Rainy season runs June through October. It doesn't rain all day, but when it does, streets flood quickly. The upside? Everything turns green, the air clears, and accommodation costs hit rock bottom. Just pack good rain gear and flexible plans.
