Alleppey in December
Great time to visit
The reason everyone visits Alleppey in winter becomes crystal clear. Perfect temperatures, minimal rain, and low humidity create ideal conditions. But peak season crowds and prices come with the territory.
Weather
Peak season weather arrives in full glory. Mornings are delightfully cool at 19°C, afternoons reach a perfect 31°C, and humidity stays low. Rain is virtually non-existent - maybe one or two brief showers all month.

All Months
October through March is peak season for good reason — temperatures hover around 28°C and the monsoon damage is repaired. December and January see the most crowds and highest prices, but also the most reliable weather. February and March offer a sweet spot with fewer tourists but still pleasant conditions. Monsoon season (June to September) shuts down most houseboat operations, and for good reason — the backwaters turn choppy and dangerous. April and May are brutally hot, with temperatures hitting 35°C+ and humidity that makes breathing feel like work. Book houseboats at least two weeks ahead during peak season, especially around Christmas and New Year when prices double.
