Alleppey in March
Great time to visit
The weather's getting warmer but still workable for most activities. Crowds start thinning slightly as temperatures rise. A decent compromise between weather and costs.
Weather
Heat starts building but it's still manageable for most travelers. Daytime temps hit 35°C while nights cool to 22°C. Humidity begins its gradual climb upward, but sea breezes along the coast provide some relief.

All Months
October through March is peak season for good reason — temperatures hover around 28°C and the monsoon damage is repaired. December and January see the most crowds and highest prices, but also the most reliable weather. February and March offer a sweet spot with fewer tourists but still pleasant conditions. Monsoon season (June to September) shuts down most houseboat operations, and for good reason — the backwaters turn choppy and dangerous. April and May are brutally hot, with temperatures hitting 35°C+ and humidity that makes breathing feel like work. Book houseboats at least two weeks ahead during peak season, especially around Christmas and New Year when prices double.
