Brazzaville in July

Great time to visit

July delivers peak dry season perfection with the coolest temperatures of the year and virtually no rain. This is prime time for Brazzaville, though you'll pay premium prices and deal with crowds.

Weather

July continues the dry season excellence with crisp mornings and warm afternoons that never quite cross into uncomfortable territory. This is as close to perfect as Brazzaville gets - clear skies, gentle breezes off the Congo River, and humidity levels that won't leave your clothes soaked in sweat.

  • Morning jogs along Boulevard Denis Sassou Nguesso are actually pleasant

All Months

May through September brings the dry season with cooler temperatures and less humidity. Daytime highs hover around 26-28°C (79-82°F) instead of the brutal 35°C (95°F) of wet season. Rain basically stops, making river trips and walking around much more pleasant. This period also coincides with festival season — the Fête de la Musique in June fills the streets with live performances. October through April gets hot and soggy. Daily afternoon thunderstorms flood streets and make getting around miserable. But hotel prices drop and you'll have tourist sites mostly to yourself. December and January see the heaviest rains. The city practically shuts down some afternoons when storms roll in. If you can handle the heat and humidity, wet season offers a different perspective on local life.
