Brazzaville in October

Good time to visit

October serves as a warning that the easy days are ending. Still decent for visiting, but you'll start feeling that familiar tropical heat creeping back into your daily routine.

Weather

October marks the beginning of the transition period as temperatures start climbing and humidity begins its unwelcome return. You'll still enjoy pleasant mornings, but afternoons become noticeably warmer and stickier. Rain remains light, but you can feel the wet season lurking just around the corner.

October Tips

  • Last chance for comfortable afternoon activities before heat returns
  • Start planning around midday heat again
  • Hotel rates drop as peak season officially ends

All Months

May through September brings the dry season with cooler temperatures and less humidity. Daytime highs hover around 26-28°C (79-82°F) instead of the brutal 35°C (95°F) of wet season. Rain basically stops, making river trips and walking around much more pleasant. This period also coincides with festival season — the Fête de la Musique in June fills the streets with live performances. October through April gets hot and soggy. Daily afternoon thunderstorms flood streets and make getting around miserable. But hotel prices drop and you'll have tourist sites mostly to yourself. December and January see the heaviest rains. The city practically shuts down some afternoons when storms roll in. If you can handle the heat and humidity, wet season offers a different perspective on local life.
