Good time to visit
The calm before the rodeo storm. Great weather meets reasonable prices, but the city starts buzzing with pre-rodeo excitement.

February maintains those lovely mild temperatures with slightly more warmth creeping in. Days hit around 21°C while nights stay comfortable at 9°C. Still fairly dry with maybe 4 rainy days, though when it rains, it can pour.

All Months
October through April gives you Houston's sweet spot — warm days, cool evenings, and manageable humidity. December and January can surprise you with actual cold fronts, but you'll still see 70-degree days mixed in. March and April bloom with azaleas in River Oaks and perfect weather for outdoor festivals.
Summer is brutal. We're talking 95+ degrees with humidity that makes the air feel thick as soup from May through September. But hotel rates drop 40% and you'll have pools to yourself. Just plan indoor activities during peak afternoon heat.
Avoid late August through October if possible — hurricane season brings flooding risks and general weather chaos. Harvey in 2017 showed how quickly things can go sideways. Spring break (March) and rodeo season (late February/early March) jack up prices and crowds significantly.
